Centre for children of conflict Odessa

Organization: The Way Home
Project: Centre of Early Development
Location: Odessa, Ukraine
Target group: Families at risk

As a result of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, many internally displaced persons (IDPs) have arrived in Odessa. Families with children have experienced violence and had to flee their homes, and as a result are suffering from stress, fear and anxiety. Many parents face unemployment and financial hardships. The project allows The Way Home to establish a social and psychological assistance center for IDP families and children at the Kuyalnik sanatorium, where most IDPs are living. Two playrooms have also been set up where children can relax, play and just be children. The Way Home is cooperating closely with local authorities.
