Evaluation of Childhood Moms & Babies programs
In 2008, Childhood hired an outside consulting company to conduct an independent audit of all Moms & Babies programs worldwide. As one of the target groups for Childhood, several significant findings indicated successful models and innovative programs to support a vulnerable group of recipients in countries such as Brazil, Moldova, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine and the United States.
Health access for trafficking victims
This innovative project was one of the first initiatives to explore if health care could serve as a point of early identification and intervention to help trafficked young women and children in the United States. The goal was to help survivors of trafficking understand their health care rights, but also to create active connections and multidisciplinary collaborations within the area of trafficking to reach young victims who often had no other resources available for rescue. This effort also served as an initiative to identify any public policy implications and opportunities to amplify health care and other needs by victims of trafficking. The project was completed in 2005. A report with findings from the study, "Turning Pain into Power: Trafficking Survivor's Perspective on Early Intervention Strategies" is available to download here.
